Both Laura and Steve are comprehensively trained and certified (over 1,000 hours of education) in STOTT PILATES®, Pilates Academy International® and GYROTONIC® exercise, along with thousands of addition hours of education as Licensed Massage Therapists. All of this training allows us to offer you a wide variety of Pilates Training options, ranging from Private Lessons and Pilates for Rehabilitation to Duet and Small Group Equipment Sessions (our advanced sessions challenge professional athletes).
While Laura and Steve are trained in Contemporary Stott Pilates, all Pilates is great. It's really the depth of knowledge the instructor has + years of experience + each instructors unique personality that makes the difference. There is a Pilates instructor to suit everyone.
Yoga, Pilates and GYROTONIC exercise are all amazing systems in their own right.
These systems have unique benefits and focus on different aspects of movement and fitness.
We believe that everyone can benefit from all of these amazing systems (just as we have).
In Hawaii, where we are from, the plate lunch is a quintessentially Hawaiian meal. A plate lunch with more than one entrée is often called a mixed plate.
Our mixed plate sessions give YOU two (or more) "entrée" of GYROTONIC, Yoga and/or Pilates (as well as any of the other movement arts we specialize in).
Why pick one when you can have them all?
I was a long-time student of Laura's here in Kona. With her broad cross-technique experience coupled with her acute biomechanics knowledge, she has the skill set to directly address a student's needs. Depending on how my body was doing a given day, we'd do some Gyrotonic to loosen up the stiff computer-desk joints, then Pilates for strengthening the core, then stretches from Pilates and Yoga to prepare for my next day at work. Or, if feeling strong go right into Pilates but finish with some Gyrotonic to keep things limber. Kona's loss is California's gain. Ask Laura about Hawaiian Mixed-Plate.
